How to connect garage door opener sensors.
The door should stay open and the motor unit lights should blink.
1 push the safety sensor with attached carriage bolt.
Repeat for the opposite side.
One for each wire.
Staple the wire secure and stretch it over to the point that the opener rail attaches to the top of the garage door.
Place a box or similar object between the safety sensors to block the sensing beam.
Place a staple over the wire to secure it to the wall.
You can cut close to the sensor.
Attempt to close the garage door using a remote.
Using your wire cutter snip the wires that continue to attach the sensor to your garage door.
Open the garage door.
4 tie a string to one sensor so that if pulled across the garage doorway it will run across the center of the sensor.
Give yourself only about a half inch from the sensor.
Test the garage door opener sensors multiple times to be sure they are working properly.
Connect the wires from each of the two garage door safety sensors to the garage door opener.
There are generally two screws on the motor.
