Fix it the right way not the wrong way.
How to fix a fire door hinge pulled out.
Bore out and plug each of the remaining stripped screw holes the same way.
Wait at least an hour.
Spread carpenter s glue onto a 3 8 inch diameter x 1 inch long wood dowel and tap it into the hole until it s flush with the jamb.
Insert the screws through the hinge and into the threaded holes in the steel door.
Wait about 10 minutes and try tapping again.
Finish by securing the hinge by driving screws into the dowel reinforced holes.
A how to video my first of many to come looking forward to sharing.
Tap the hinge pin back into the door with a hammer at the top of the pin barrel.
Hold the hinge in place and mark the hole locations.
This is not how i usually would do this fix but thought people would like the mi.
If it still will not come out it may be easier to remove the screws from one leaf which will allow you to remove the door.
Then reposition the hinge leaf and bore 1 8 inch diameter pilot holes.
Tighten the screws with a phillips screwdriver.
I am not sure what size bit i used i eyeballed it.
The wrong way is a temporary fix not cool.
Step 4 tap new threads into the steel door with a tap that is the same size diameter as the screw threads.
Ask a helper to hold up the door and align the pin barrel on both halves of the hinge.
Use your drill and a small drill bit to drill new pilot holes for your screws.
